14-047; Sept 18 - We were called for a 66 yr old male who was thrown from his horse on Spring Creek. It was thought that the ambulance could drive just short of the subjects location so AM6-1 was dispatched. SAR continued for ATV assistance if needed. AM6-1 only made it to the reservoir as the road was to narrow so they started on foot. 3 SAR members on 2 ATV's met up with SSFR and took them on the ATV's to our patient. He was evaluated and packaged in the vacuum splint/litter and driven on the ATV to the parked AM6-1 and taken to YVMC. Subject may have some fractured ribs and a pneumothorax (collapsed lung). |
